Germany's COVID death toll exceeds 100,000

Germany recorded 351 COVID-related deaths over the past day. Thus, the country’s total COVID death toll reached 100,119, Report informs, citing the Robert Koch Institute.
The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection reached 5,573,756, after 75,961 new cases were detected in the country in one day. Over the past week, the number of infection cases per 100,000 people, according to which the country determines whether to apply restrictions or not, reached a new record high of 419.7 cases.
Last week, the German state of Bavaria announced the introduction of a lockdown for people not vaccinated against coronavirus. Clubs, bars and Christmas markets will be suspended throughout the state, cafes and restaurants will close at 22:00.
