Former Afghan Interior Minister Ali Ahmad Jalali has been appointed head of the country's transitional government, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.
President Ashraf Ghani will reportedly step down.
At the presidential palace in Kabul, negotiations are underway between representatives of the Afghan government and the Taliban. The head of the country's Supreme Council for National Reconciliation, Abdullah Abdullah, acts as a mediator.
