Abdurrahman Huseynli advances to U17 world final in Baku

Azerbaijan's Greco-Roman wrestler Abdurrahman Huseynli has reached the final of the U-17 World Wrestling Championships in Baku, Report informs.
Competing in the 51 kg weight category, Huseynli booked his place in the final with a 9-3 victory over Georgia's Saba Abashidze in the semifinals.
The Azerbaijani wrestler will compete for the gold medal on Saturday.
Earlier in the tournament, Huseynli defeated Kazakhstan's Kuanyshbek Zhangazhol and Algeria's Lyes Boumaza by identical 9-0 scores in the qualification round and the round of 16, respectively. He then edged Armenia's Gevorg Harutyunyan 6-4 in the quarterfinals to secure a place in the last four.

The Azerbaijani wrestler had earlier beaten Kazakhstan's Kuanyshbek Zhangazhol in the qualification round before overpowering Algeria's Lyes Boumaza 9-0 in the round of 16.
The U17 World Championships are taking place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, bringing together nearly 700 young wrestlers from more than 60 countries. Azerbaijan is represented by a 29-member squad at the tournament.

Earlier, in the qualification round, he had also overcome Kazakh opponent Kuanyshbek Zhangazhol with the same 9:0 result.
