New date for completion of BTK announced

The construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line should be completed by the end of 2022, Report informs, citing Business Media.
According to the financial report of "Marabda-Kartsahi" LLC, which is responsible for the project in Georgia, the new date for the completion of construction works was agreed on at the 32nd meeting of the Bilateral Coordination Council on February 24 of this year.
According to the document, after the full completion of the BTK project, it is estimated that 5 million tons of cargo will be transported in the first phase.
It emphasized that the infrastructure for providing services to containers and various types of cargo has been created at the Akhalkalaki station on the Georgian part of the railway.
