The Airbus A321neo aircraft assembled at Airbus' Hamburg facility in Germany for Azerbaijan Airlines fully meets the airline's requirements and is ready for commercial operations, Rinat Huseynov, Head of the Flight Safety Department at Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), told Azerbaijani journalists.
Report's correspondent in Hamburg quotes Huseynov as saying that the airline had been awaiting delivery of the aircraft for approximately four years.
He noted that he personally participated in the aircraft's test flight and the inspection of its key systems.
"During the test flight, we assessed the performance of all systems, evaluated the aircraft's efficiency and capabilities, and verified its suitability for operation in our climatic and operational conditions. It is an excellent aircraft that inspires confidence and reliability. It will help us achieve the goals set for the airline in the coming years and, I am confident, will bring significant benefits to the country," he said.
Huseynov added that the A321neo is among the most modern aircraft in AZAL's fleet.
Asked about potential routes for the aircraft, he emphasized its operational flexibility.
"This aircraft can be used on virtually any route - to Europe, Asia, as well as northern and southern destinations. Although it belongs to the medium-haul category, it has one of the longest flight ranges in its class," Huseynov noted.
