Azerbaijan, Slovakia welcome launch of direct air connection

Wizz Air has launched its first direct flight between Slovakia's capital, Bratislava, and Baku.

Report informs that Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Slovakia Vusal Abdullayev announced the launch on X.

"I am delighted to attend the inauguration of Wizz Air's direct Bratislava–Baku route," the diplomat said.

The ambassador described the launch as a milestone in Azerbaijan–Slovakia relations and an important achievement of the two countries' strategic partnership.

He said the new route would create significant opportunities for business, tourism and people-to-people contacts.

According to Report, the aircraft departing Bratislava is scheduled to land in Baku at 21:20. Flights on the route will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
