87% of container traffic through Aktau port directed to Middle Corridor

In January of this year, the transportation of containers through the Port of Aktau of Kazakhstan increased by 30% to 2,300 TEU, of which about 2,000 TEU was directed to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).
Report informs, citing Kazakhstan Temir Joly, that the cargo turnover at the Port of Aktau increased by 12.7% compared to January last year and reached 360,000 tons.
According to information, 3,000 tons of grain, 310,000 tons of oil and oil products were processed from the port in January.
In January, the export of Kazakh oil from the Port of Aktau increased by 36% year-on-year to 287,000 tons, including transportation to the Port of Baku, which doubled to 116,000 tons.
