The Khankandi stadium is expected to be fully completed by August–September, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov told journalists, Report informs.
He explained the reasons for slight delays: "I must admit, there was some slowdown regarding the Khankandi stadium. Last year, the archery competition of the 3rd CIS Games was held in Khankandi, so we had to postpone certain works. The stadium will meet UEFA standards. We want international competitions to be held here, and also for our national team to play some matches. The turf, locker rooms, and stands are ready. Some finishing works are ongoing, and we are waiting for equipment arriving from abroad. We hope the stadium will be fully ready by August–September."
