The views regarding the vaccination of very new mothers who are breastfeeding are very contradictory. The inoculation of breastfeeding mothers is not recommended, Natavan Akhundov, an associate professor at the Gynecology chair of the Azerbaijan Medical University, Doctor of Philosophy, has said.
Report informs that, according to her, a woman's immune system is usually weaker after delivery.
"The vaccination is considered possibleIf the woman's general health if the post-partum period permits. The post-partum period lasts for six to eight weeks. But in foreign literature, such period lasts for eleven to twelve weeks, because the uterus usually recovers in eleven weeks," she said.
