Avoiding alcohol can extend life by 28 years, Report informs referring to Express.
The Karolinska Institutet in Sweden analyzed life expectancy in people with "alcohol use disorder" in Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. Over a 20-year period, deaths from all sorts of ailments were markedly higher in this drinking group.
Life expectancy was 24–28 years shorter in these people than in the general population.
Doctors have repeatedly warned about the negative effects of alcohol on the body. In particular, alcohol, even in small doses, significantly increases the risk of cancer, dementia, impotence, and infertility. Alcohol also negatively affects the functioning of the heart, brain, and liver.
