Azerbaijani, Turkish FMs strongly condemn Iran's drone strikes on Nakhchivan

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Istanbul within the framework of the informal session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.
The meeting addressed the current security situation in the Middle East, the growing escalation in the region, and its potential impact on regional stability.
The ministers strongly condemned the missile launches from Iranian territory targeting Türkiye and the drone strikes carried out against Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
It was stressed that such actions not only violate international law and its principles but also contribute to rising tensions in the region and further complicate the security environment.
Gratitude was expressed for Türkiye's immediate support following the attacks, particularly the statements of solidarity from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
It was also noted that Azerbaijan highly values Türkiye's assistance in ensuring the safety of flights between mainland Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, with temporary arrangements made through Igdir Airport.
The meeting further discussed cooperation and coordination stemming from the Azerbaijan–Türkiye strategic alliance, as well as upcoming high-level visits and contacts. Other regional and international issues of mutual interest were also reviewed.
