Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia share a common vision for urban development and a sustainable environment within their national strategies until 2030, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Majid bin Abdullah Al Hogail, told journalists on the sidelines of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), according to Report.
"The Azerbaijan–2030 Vision and Saudi Arabia"s Vision 2030 are united by a shared focus on the well-being of our citizens. When we saw the green spaces and the scale of urban development in Azerbaijan, it reminded us of the development in Saudi Arabia," the minister said.
According to him, the two countries have similar approaches to urban planning, greening, and the development of urban environments.
"We have the Green Saudi Arabia initiative and urban development programs. There is a great similarity and mutual understanding between the two brotherly nations - the Saudi and Azerbaijani peoples," he noted.
The minister also expressed hope for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries, including at the level of the private sector.
"We aim for partnership with the Azerbaijani government and this remarkable people. In Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan is highly valued, and we believe the Azerbaijani people also regard Saudi Arabia with the same respect and interest. We hope for the success of the Urban Expo and for the conclusion of many deals between Saudi and Azerbaijani private companies in the near future," Al Hogail emphasized.
