Volume of oil transported via BTC disclosed

Azerbaijan's major oil pipelines transported 3,269,100 tons of oil in January, an increase of 0.43% from the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

Of this, 76%, or 2,486,100 tons, were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, 1.9% less than in the same period of 2022.

During the period, Azerbaijani oil accounted for 2,055,300 tons (82.7%), and Turkmen and Kazakh oil accounted for 430,800 tons (17.3%).

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly oil from Azerbaijan from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. In addition, the pipeline transports other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan.

Shareholders of BTC Co: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); MOL (8.9%); Equinor (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%), ITOCU (3.4%); INPEKS (2.5%), ExxonMobil (2.5%), and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36%).
