The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had killed a commander in the Khan Younis Brigade of Hamas' military wing in the southern Gaza Strip, who, according to the military, had recently carried out attacks against Israeli forces.
According to Report, citing The Times of Israel, the IDF said in a statement that the strike was carried out on August 13 in the Khan Younis area. As a result, Hudaifa Khaled Suleiman Kawari was killed. The Israeli military identified him as a company commander in Hamas' Khan Younis Brigade.
According to the IDF, during the war, Kawari was involved in training Hamas militants, transporting weapons, and efforts to restore the group's combat capabilities.
The Israeli military said the strike was carried out despite the ongoing ceasefire because Kawari had continued to conduct offensive activities against Israeli soldiers.
