Germany intends to expand its strategic partnership with SOCAR, Ulf Heitmüller, Chairman of the Executive Board (CEO) of Germany's VNG AG, said at panel discussions on the second day of Baku Energy Week, Report informs.
Heitmüller stressed that cooperation between the sides has developed rapidly: "We have built relations with SOCAR faster than expected. There are more opportunities for cooperation ahead. We aim to establish a true strategic partnership with SOCAR, and I believe this process is only just beginning. Long-term strategic cooperation helps reduce uncertainties in energy markets."
The chairman added that Germany continues to diversify its gas supply sources to strengthen energy security: "The availability of multiple sources of gas supply increases the resilience of the energy system. Just as diversifying demand markets is important for Azerbaijan, diversifying supply sources is equally important for us. This makes the energy system more sustainable.
