The International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts a 3.6% growth in global demand for natural gas this year, Report informs via foreign media.
Besides, the agency expects the demand to rise by 1.7% in 2022-2024.
The IEA believes that while the Paris Agreement, signed by more than 190 countries to limit temperature increases to 1.5 degrees Celsius, will reduce the use of conventional fuels, it will not minimize natural gas consumption in the short term.
Demand for natural gas will grow if countries do not continue their zero-emission policies until 2050, the agency said.
