Turkish vice president: Cyprus will never be a Greek island

Turks, like Greeks, are equal owners of Cyprus, and Cyprus will never be a Greek island, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said, Report informs.
Yılmaz made the remarks during an event held in Lefkosa (North Nicosia), the capital of Northern Cyprus, on the 52nd anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
"The international community must recognize that Turkish Cypriots, like Greeks, are equal owners of these lands. Cyprus will never be a Greek island," he said.
Yılmaz stressed that Türkiye would continue supporting Northern Cyprus.
"No initiative that excludes Türkiye or ignores the rights of Turkish Cypriots and our legitimate interests in the Eastern Mediterranean can succeed," he said.
