Georgia reduces electricity supplies from Azerbaijan

In January 2022, Georgia imported 48.7 million kWh of electricity from Azerbaijan, 3.1 times less than in January 2021, Report informs, citing the Georgian Electricity Market Operator (ESCO).
In the reporting period, Georgia supplied a total of 406.4 million kWh of electricity. Azerbaijan has met 12% of Georgia's electricity needs. Meanwhile, Georgia's main electricity supplier was Russia (291.493 million kWh).
During the reporting month, the volume of electricity transited from Azerbaijan to Turkey via Georgia reached 185.519 million kWh, which is 14.5 times more than a year earlier.
