Azerbaijan increases revenues from polypropylene exports by more than 85%

In January-November this year, according to customs declarations, Azerbaijan exported 75,200 tons of polypropylene in primary forms worth $104.3 million, respectively, up 9% and 85.3% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
Over the past 11 months, the share of polypropylene in exports in the non-oil sector was 4.4%. Over the reporting period, the share of polypropylene in primary forms in the country's total exports made up 0.5%.
Polypropylene is produced at SOCAR Polymer's Polypropylene Plant with an annual production capacity of 184,000 tons. The opening of the Polypropylene Plant took place on July 18, 2018, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Italian President Sergio Mattarella. Exports of polypropylene began on October 5 of the same year.
