Azerbaijan's tobacco exports dwindle

In January 2022, Azerbaijan imported $5.3 million worth of tobacco and tobacco products, 19.45% less than in January 2021, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.

During the reporting month, Azerbaijan’s expenditures on importing tobacco and tobacco products amounted to 0.5% of total import expenditures.

At the same time, Azerbaijan exported $2.45 million worth of tobacco and its industrial substitutes, which is 61.2% more than a year ago.

Revenues from tobacco and tobacco substitutes exports accounted for a negligible share of Azerbaijan’s total export revenues.
