Azerbaijan's cattle imports from Germany skyrocket in 1H26

In the first half of 2026, Azerbaijan imported 4,567 head of cattle (heifers, cows, and others) worth $19.3 million, marking an increase of 44% in number and 43% in value compared to the same period last year, Report informs, referring to the country's State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased cattle from:
- Germany: 1,171 head (+29 times) worth $5.4 million (+39 times);
- Estonia: 693 head (-16%) worth $3.1 million (-11%);
- Denmark: 730 head (+27%) worth $2.8 million (+23%);
- Slovakia: 689 head worth $2.7 million (no supply a year ago);
- Austria: 523 head (+2.7 times) worth $2.4 million (+3 times).
Of the 8,983 head of cattle imported to Azerbaijan in 2025, 40% came from Uruguay and 20.5% from Czechia.
