Farming enterprise in Azerbaijan to allocate 10M manats for livestock, irrigation development

State support for farming activities and ensuring food security creates conditions for the development of the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan, said Firdovsi Mahmudov, director of the Turyanchay farming enterprise, Report informs.

According to him, subsidies, preferential loans, and state support build confidence among farmers.

He noted that the farm's plans include importing an additional 1,500 head of pedigree cattle from Germany, which will increase annual milk production to 22,000 tons.

It is also planned to install modern irrigation systems on 1,000 hectares, including about 25 pivot installations, which should increase crop yields and bring the food wheat indicator to 55–60 centners per hectare.

Mahmudov noted that the private sector plans to invest 6 million manats in livestock farming and 4 million manats in irrigation systems, totaling 10 million manats.
