Leclerc details qualifying difficulties in Baku

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc said qualifying for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix had been very difficult for him.

According to Report, the driver made the remarks at a press conference in Baku.

"Today was very difficult. I wasn't able to achieve what I wanted this weekend because the car was not responding well. The situation improved somewhat later," Leclerc said.

The Monegasque added that Ferrari had generally remained behind its rivals in Baku throughout the weekend.

"Overall, we've been a step behind all weekend. We expected to be very far from the leaders after a difficult Thursday, but there was some hope this morning. In the end, in terms of position, the result is quite expected, but the gap was much bigger than we anticipated," he said.

Leclerc finished second in qualifying, behind George Russell. The main race will take place on September 26.
