SSPF chairman: Reducing retirement age not on agenda

At present, the issue of reducing the retirement age in Azerbaijan is not on the agenda, said Himalay Mamishov, chairman of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Report informs.
According to him, research shows that the average life expectancy in the country is more than 77 years:
"Even the age of our retirees is above that figure. With this in mind, there are no plans to reduce the retirement age. In the world practice, it is considered expedient to raise the retirement age above 65 and keep them in the labour market."
