Alban-Udi community visits Khudavang monastery in Kalbajar

Members of the Alban-Udi Christian religious community have visited religious monuments in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan every year since 2020, Rafiq Danakari, Deputy Chairman of the Alban-Udi Christian religious community, said.

According to Report's correspondent in Kalbajar, Danakari made the remarks on September 28 during a visit to the Khudavang monastery complex in the district.

He said community members prayed in their native language during the visit and conveyed their position that the temples are part of the cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people.

"Today, as the Alban-Udi religious community, we are very happy to once again visit the Khudavang monastery complex. In general, members of the community have visited religious monuments in the liberated territories every year since 2020," he said.

"As heirs of the Albanian Church, we offered our prayers in our native Udi language, that is, the ancient Caucasian Albanian language. Today, we once again sent a message to the whole world that these churches belong to the Azerbaijani people and are part of their cultural heritage. Let everyone know that the sole owner of all religious temples located in our country is the Azerbaijani people," Danakari said.

Community member Romen Callati said that during visits to temples in different areas, they also pray for the martyrs who gave their lives for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and light candles in their memory.
