Türkiye detains 258 suspects over posts praising hitmen, criminal groups

Türkiye has detained 258 suspects in operations across 54 provinces targeting people who praised hitmen and criminal groups on social media platforms.
Report informs, citing the Turkish Interior Ministry.
The suspects detained in the operations were found to have shared posts on communication platforms in groups created to recruit hitmen or offer hitman services, as well as posts on social media accounts praising crime and criminals and containing threats, insults and propaganda for criminal groups.
"We will continue our fight with determination against those who encourage crime on social media, promote criminal groups and target our young people through criminal structures," the Turkish Interior Ministry said.
