"Several people have been arrested in connection with the crash of a Ukrainian airliner in Iran," Judiciary spokesman Gholam Hossein Esmaeili said.
Report says Esmaeili gave no further details about the arrests.
A Boeing 737-800 operated by Ukraine International Airlines crashed minutes after taking off from Imam Khomeini Airport. All 176 people on board died.
It later became clear that the Ukrainian Boeing was mistakenly shot down by Iran's Air Defense Systems.
