Putin: West unleashed war, and Russia tries to stop it

Russia did everything possible to solve the Ukrainian crisis with peaceful means, but a "completely different scenario" was being prepared behind Russia's back, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a message to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Report informs.

According to the Russian leader, the promises of the Western states were actually brutal forgery and lie.

"West unleashed the war, and Russia is using its power to stop it," the President of the Russian Federation said.
