PM: Armenian government to liberate church just as it liberated country from Serzh Sargsyan

The Armenian government will liberate the Armenian Apostolic Church just as it liberated the country from Serzh Sargsyan, the country’s Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan stated at a press conference, Report informs via Armenian media outlets.

Pashinyan rejected accusations of organizing a campaign against the Catholicos of all Armenians and noted that he could not launch a campaign against the church.

"The Armenian Apostolic Church is sacred to me and my family. Therefore, we cannot fight against it in any way. Whatever we do, we do it for the church itself. If the church were not sacred to us, we would simply be indifferent to the destructive process observed today. Moreover, the current activities of the church, unfortunately, harm itself," the prime minister highlighted.
