Peskov says Germany pursuing further escalation by blaming Russia for drone incident

Germany is pursuing a path of further escalation by accusing Russia of involvement in the drone incident in Leipzig, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, Report informs via Russian media.

According to Peskov, Berlin has not presented any evidence to substantiate the accusations.

Earlier, German authorities blamed Russia for an attempted drone strike on German territory. In response, Berlin announced a series of measures against Moscow, including the closure of Russia's consulate general in Bonn, tighter entry rules for Russian citizens and an initiative to strengthen EU sanctions against Russia.

"It is difficult to comment on this because, if such serious accusations are made, they must be supported by something. If I am not mistaken, no evidence has been presented. The fact that Germany is moving further down the path of escalation is obvious," Peskov told journalists, commenting on the German authorities' decisions.
