Russia and Türkiye are discussing the possible resale of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems currently in Turkish service, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, Report informs referring to Russian media.
"I can say one thing here: this is a highly sensitive issue. We have had contacts with the Turkish side on this matter, and we will continue to do so," he said.
Earlier, the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet noted that the S-400s Türkiye acquired from Russia may be sold to a Persian Gulf country.
According to the newspaper, Ankara is seeking a legal solution that would allow it to waive US CAATSA sanctions and return to the F-35 fighter jet production program.
In 2017, Türkiye signed a contract with Russia for the supply of four S-400 battalions worth approximately $2.5 billion.
Following the acquisition of the Russian systems, Ankara was excluded from the US F-35 fighter jet program.
