Gaya Mammadov: We reject Zohrevand's threatening statement against Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan strongly rejects and condemns the slanderous and threatening statement made by Iranian MP Abolfazl Zohrevand against Azerbaijan, said Gaya Mammadov, member of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (Parliament), as quoted by Report.

"Zohrevand's statement is a provocation aimed against the efforts of the Azerbaijani and Iranian governments to maintain stability in the region and bilateral relations based on mutual understanding. We call on the Iranian government and parliament to denounce his provocative remarks and take appropriate measures against him," Mammadov said.

He stressed that such rhetoric is unacceptable at a time when the world is facing complex processes and regional stability is of utmost importance.

Iranian MP Abolfazl Zohrevand recently issued threats against Azerbaijan.
