Cavusoglu: Some in Sweden do not want this country to join NATO

Since the issue of Sweden and Finland's membership in NATO came up, we have said that we have fewer problems with Finland, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a joint press conference with Portuguese Foreign Minister Joao Gomes Cravinho, Report informs.
He said that Finland had taken positive steps after the tripartite Madrid agreement: "However, like Sweden, some do not want Finland to join the Alliance."
Cavusoglu emphasized that Turkiye is not against the expansion of NATO:
"We understand the security concerns of these countries. But some in Sweden do not want this country to join the Alliance. Therefore, the process does not advance."
