Armed gang of 20 detained in Almaty

More than 20 armed people have been detained in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan, according to the local police department, Report informs via RIA Novosti.

"In the Almaty region, more than 20 persons have been detained, and 40 weapons have been seized from them," said a Telegram channel, which publishes information from Kazakhstani state agencies.

Among the seized weapons are 25 Makarov pistols, five Kalashnikov assault rifles, and sawn-off shotguns. Also, 500 rounds of various calibers were taken from the detainees.
