Ernst & Young: World already facing consequences of climate change

The world is already feeling the effects of climate change: lands are becoming desertified, and temperatures are rising, Victor Kovalenko, a representative of the international audit firm Ernst & Young's Climate Change and Sustainability Services in Central Asia, said at the Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025), Report informs.

He stated that this demonstrates that the problem of climate change already exists and requires the utmost attention.

"Transitioning the economy to a green and carbon-free state is a task not only for governments but for every company. Governments must clearly define goals in this area. When businesses have clear frameworks and goals, they can assess risks and act with appropriate risk management. Therefore, the key issue is assessing the real impact, real risks, and financial aspects," Kovalenko added.
