Zelenskyy says major defense agreements to be reached with Germany

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Kyiv, has announced that Ukraine and Germany are set to conclude a number of important defense agreements.
According to Report, Zelenskyy made the remarks on his Telegram channel.
Zelenskyy said that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz was visiting Kyiv and thanked Germany for its continued support and leadership in helping protect Ukrainian lives from Russian attacks.
He noted that decisions were being prepared to strengthen defense capabilities both in Ukraine and across Europe, adding that significant agreements between Ukraine and Germany would be reached.
According to Zelenskyy, Russian forces continue to target Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, making it necessary to further reinforce the country's defense measures.
He stated that Russia launched 135 attack drones against Ukraine overnight, more than 50 of which were jet-powered drones. The attacks targeted the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Zelenskyy stressed that it was important for Ukraine not to be left alone in the face of what he described as terror.
