Zelenskyy says diplomatic window to end war runs through summer 2027

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the window of opportunity for ending the conflict with Russia through diplomacy will remain open until the end of summer 2027, Report informs via Interfax-Ukraine.

Zelenskyy attributed the timeframe to the upcoming election campaign in the United States.

"The window of opportunity to end the war is from the G20 in the United States until the end of summer 2027, because after that the presidential election begins in the US," Zelenskyy said during a meeting with journalists on Sunday.

He said this period represents the most active stage in which diplomacy could lead to an end to the war, adding that he would also discuss the issue with EU leaders.

According to Zelenskyy, US presidential special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner "very much want to bring a victory to President Trump" and find a format for negotiations with Russia.
