US holds over 230 combat aircraft near Iran

Despite rotations of its aviation units, the United States continues to keep more than 230 fighter and attack aircraft at bases in the Middle East and on ships deployed near Iran, Report informs, citing the Military Air Tracking Alliance (MATA) and the Itamilradar portal.

According to Itamilradar, in the past two weeks, the US has rotated some fighter squadrons in the Middle East. However, the total number of combat aircraft in the region has not decreased.

US tactical aviation is mainly based in Jordan. American military aircraft are also stationed in Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

At US Central Command bases in the Middle East, there are approximately 208 fighters, including 65 F‑35A/C, 64 F‑15E, 61 F‑16C, 12 F/A‑18C/D, and six EA‑18G, as well as 30 A‑10 attack aircraft.

In addition, more than 110 fighters, including F/A‑18s and F‑35s, are deployed on two aircraft carriers and a large amphibious assault ship on combat duty in the Arabian Sea, southeast of Iran.
