US considers restricting entry for pregnant women to curb 'birth tourism'

The US Department of Homeland Security, together with the Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services, is considering restricting entry into the country for women in the late stages of pregnancy in an effort to reduce so-called "birth tourism."

According to Report, US Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in an interview with Fox News that he is discussing the issue with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Attorney General and Justice Secretary Todd Blanche. US authorities are also examining measures to end birthright citizenship.

"Perhaps we should look at the possibility that they should not be coming in during the late stages of pregnancy," Mullin said.
