US allocates $500 million in aid for Afghan refugees

US President Joe Biden has ruled on allocating $500 million in aid for refugees from Afghanistan, the White House said in a statement.
Report informs, citing foreign media, that a memorandum signed by Biden says the amount of no more than $500 million will be used to meet the urgent needs of refugees, victims of the conflict, and other persons at risk due to the situation in Afghanistan.
Pentagon representatives said three military bases in the US territory (in Virginia, Texas, and Wisconsin) are preparing to host up to 22,000 evacuated Afghan nationals.
