UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrives in Qatar as part of Gulf tour

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has arrived in Doha as part of his tour of the Gulf countries.

According to Report, which cites Al Jazeera, the tour will also include trips to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

During the tour, Starmer plans to discuss efforts to ensure compliance with the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, as well as issues related to the resumption of operations in the Strait of Hormuz.

The British prime minister noted that "there is still much work to be done," emphasizing the need to restore global energy routes in cooperation with regional partners.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran. As a result, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, along with several high-ranking officials, was killed.

Following this, Iran carried out strikes against targets in Israel, as well as against US and allied facilities in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, and Cyprus.

On April 8, Iran, the United States, and their allies reached an agreement on a two-week ceasefire. Iran stated that during this period, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz would be ensured in coordination with its armed forces and taking into account technical limitations.
