Trump says he wants to strike a deal with Russia

US President Donald Trump said he would like to see a "deal with Russia."

Speaking on board his plane en route to the NATO summit in the Netherlands, he noted that he needs to evaluate the situation but expressed hope for reaching a deal with Russia. He shared that Russian President Vladimir Putin had called him, offering assistance with the Iran situation. However, Trump reportedly told Putin that he did not need help with Iran but rather needs help with Russia itself.

The US president voiced hope such a deal with Russia will eventually be possible.
