Switzerland freezes Russian assets worth $8.8 billion

Switzerland has frozen Russian assets worth 7.7 billion Swiss francs ($8.8 billion), Report informs via Reuters.
According to the information, these are preliminary figures which have increased slightly compared to 2022.
In December 2022, the country's authorities reported freezing Russian assets in the amount of 7.5 billion Swiss francs ($8.4 billion) after joining EU sanctions against Russia.
The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) noted that it is difficult to give an exact figure due to the addition and deletion of new persons to the sanctions lists, as well as in connection with court cases regarding the freezing or unfreezing of assets.
