Fire destroys 17th-century historic church in Poland

One of Poland's oldest wooden churches has been destroyed by fire in the city of Sanok in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.

According to Polsat News, cited by Report, the fire broke out at the Museum of Folk Architecture.

"A huge fire engulfed three buildings on the grounds of the open-air museum, including the historic Church of St. Nicholas, built in 1667," the report said.

According to the agency, 140 firefighters took part in extinguishing the blaze, which was brought under control. Despite the efforts of emergency crews, the church was completely destroyed, while two other buildings were damaged.

One firefighter suffered a burn to his hand while battling the fire.
