A very strong magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean 890 km (553 mi) from Chile in the late afternoon of Thursday, Feb 22, 2024, at 6.51 pm local time (GMT -7), Report informs, citing the EMSC (European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre).
The quake had a very shallow depth of 2 km (1.2 mi) and was not felt (or at least not reported so).
