Prime Minister of Latvia officially hands in government's resignation

Prime Minister of Latvia Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) made good his promise from last week on August 17 and handed in his resignation - and the resignation of his government - to President Edgars Rinkevics at Riga Castle, Report informs, citing Eng.lsm.lv.
His current executive will continue in a caretaker capacity until a new government is formed and approved by Saeima vote, a process likely to take several weeks.
