Northern Cyprus shipwreck death toll hits 14

The number of fatalities from the passenger shipwreck off the coast of Girne, Northern Cyprus, has risen to 14.

According to Report, citing TRT Haber, the Naval Command recovered another body during ongoing search‑and‑rescue operations for missing passengers.

Earlier, Northern Cyprus Prime Minister Unal Ustel stated that the vessel carried a total of 267 passengers and crew. Following the sinking, 239 people were rescued.

The wreckage of the ship was found at a depth of 554 meters off the Girne coast. Search efforts continue for 14 passengers still missing.
