A British strain of the COVID-19 virus could become the most common in the United States by March, Report informs, citing the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
So far, 15 states have recorded 88 coronavirus cases. According to experts, the new version will spread rapidly earlier this year and become a primary infection source in March.
On December 14 last year, the British Minister of Health, Matt Hancock, announced the discovery of a new mutated variant of coronavirus, spreading faster than previously known strains. Prime Minister Boris Johnson later noted it was 70% more contagious than the previous ones.
