Mirziyoyev announces plans for $20B in joint investments

Uzbekistan has proposed implementing joint investment projects worth $20 billion in several key industrial sectors, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the opening ceremony of the Tashkent Investment Forum.

According to a Report correspondent from Tashkent, he noted that these projects cover areas such as mechanical engineering, robotics, light industry, construction materials production, electrical engineering, and pharmaceuticals.

"As you know, Uzbekistan is rich in natural resources-gold, copper, uranium, tungsten, gas, and others. The total value of our mineral wealth is estimated at $3 trillion," he stated.

He added that an open digital geological database will be created to attract investment, and the number of deposits offered for auction will quadruple.

There are also plans to develop projects from mining to finished products in the Future Metals technology parks being established in Tashkent and Samarkand.
