Man stabs 2 people in Germany, dies during police operation

Following a knife attack in Mannheim, Germany, that left two people seriously injured, the suspect died during a police operation, Report informs referring to Der Spiegel.
Mannheim police and the public prosecutor's office, as well as the Stuttgart State Criminal Police Office, noted that a 53-year-old man seriously injured a 26-year-old woman and a 76-year-old man with a knife in an apartment in the city center on Sunday evening.
The woman required intensive care and underwent emergency surgery.
When police arrived at the scene and demanded the suspect surrender, he refused. Instead, he threatened to jump out a window. Police gained entry, but the man resisted, forcing them to resort to "physical force."
He was taken to the hospital, where he died several hours later. The exact cause of death has not been determined, and an autopsy has been ordered. His motive for the knife attack is also unclear.
